Hi everybody! I am glad to see you again. I must confess this is one of my favourite communities in HIVE. I guess music is a great way to bring people together; it transcends cultures and other potential barriers you wouldn't have thought of before.
So, I had this song in my head lately [Have you ever seen the rain?] and was thinking about that old time when I was listening to Smokie's ''Have You Ever Seen the Rain?''. I really enjoy his version because the original is actually of ''Creedence Clearwater Revival'' which I found out later.
You can listen to it right here:
This interpretation is cool, but I have to say I prefer more some of the covers that have been made later for this song 😁 ..and starting with Smokie, yes. Because Chris Norman has this special voice that makes me think of other incredible artists as well, such as Mark Knopfler or Thom Yorke...but well...this is another story..🤤 But speaking of...Bonnie Tyler has also a gorgeous interpretation of this song.
And finally, I enjoy this version of Johnny Cash: Johnny Cash doesn't always fascinate me, but I think the way he sings this song is kind of deeply strange and different of what I heard before.
Anyway, there are a lot of song versions I didn't listen to yet...but I guess I still have time to do it...I must say there are a lot of covers for ''Have you ever seen the rain?''. Well, as others did, I also enjoy the song message. I imagine the magic of discovering a pouring rain on my face as it would be the first time and doing it with joy and gratitude. It almost makes me mix it with Prince's ''Purple Rain'' 🤤 But well, let's stay on the topic.
In the end, I want to share with you this link secondhandsongs which leads you to a long list of covers for ''Have you ever seen the rain?''. It's a great site that has a huge collection of covers for other songs as well.
So, hope you enjoy it! ✌️ 😻 Wish you the best to you all! 🙂
