You can do many things with paper, not just folded figures. Today I'll show you how I made my first paper pine tree, following the initiative of the Creative Papercraft community.
This pine tree is made using the basket weaving technique, which requires many paper tubes or sticks that are woven around a cardboard cone to give it shape. This isn't the first time I've worked with these paper sticks; I remember making a vase months ago, but this time I wanted to make this tree to support this Christmas initiative.

Materials: paper sticks, school glue, adhesive tape, a container, and decorations.
Procedure:
1- To make the sticks, fold a sheet of paper into a triptych to obtain three strips of paper. Roll each strip around a skewer stick and glue the end of the roll. I didn't count the number, but there are many, more than 40 paper sticks.
2- On the container, form the base of the pine tree, securing the sticks with adhesive tape and gathering the sticks into a bow that you tie with another piece of tape.
3- Begin weaving on one of the vertical sticks, surrounding it with a stick positioned horizontally and crossing it with the next vertical stick. In this case, I grabbed every two sticks.
4- Continue weaving in a crisscross pattern until you reach the end of the stick. This is the beginning of the weave.
5- When you reach the end of the woven stick, apply a dot of glue to insert a stick into each end.
6- We continue repeating the process of crossing and joining the sticks until we reach the desired height.
7- At this point, we see that the opening of the circle is a little open and we want to close it more. So, we add more vertical sticks and continue weaving until the hole is reduced or, if preferred, until it is completely closed.
8- I left the hole slightly open. To close the loop, we bend each stick and glue it to the wall of the weave.
9- We place the selected decorations to decorate. At the top, I put a woven star, which I will teach you how to make in another post, and a bow. At the bottom, I put some balls and twigs that I made with foam.
The Christmas tree didn't turn out as I expected, since I had to make a large cone to use as a mold, and because of that, it didn't take the correct shape. What happened is that I'm not an expert and I wanted to try it without a mold. Even so, it didn't turn out so bad, because decorating it gives it a different look.

Con papel se pueden hacer muchas cosas, no solo figuras con plegados. Hoy les muestro cómo hice mi primer pino de papel, siguiendo la iniciativa de la comunidad Creative Papercraft.
Este pino está hecho con la técnica de cestería y para ello necesitamos muchos tubos o palitos de papel que se entretejen alrededor de un cono de cartón para darle forma. No es la primera vez que trabajo con estos palitos de papel; recuerdo que hace meses hice un florero, pero esta vez quise hacer este árbol para apoyar esta iniciativa navideña.Pino navideño de papel
Materiales: palitos de papel, pegamento escolar, cinta adhesiva, un envase y adornos para decorar.
Procedimiento:
1- Para hacer los palitos, doblamos una hoja de papel en forma de tríptico para obtener tres tiras de papel. Enrollamos cada tira en un palito de brocheta y pegamos al final del rollito. No contabilicé la cantidad, pero son muchos, más de 40 palitos de papel.
2- Sobre el envase formamos la base del pino, sujetando los palitos con cinta adhesiva y recogiendo los palitos en un moño que unimos con otro pedazo de cinta.
3- Empezamos a tejer en uno de los palitos verticales, rodeándolo con un palito posicionado horizontalmente y cruzándolo con el palito vertical siguiente. En este caso, fui agarrando de dos palitos.
4- Seguimos tejiendo en forma cruzada hasta terminar el palito. Este sería el inicio del tejido.
5- Al terminar el palito tejido, debemos poner un punto de pega, para introducir un palito en cada punta.
6- Continuamos repitiendo el proceso de cruzado y unión de los palitos hasta alcanzar la altura deseada.
7- En este punto, vemos que la abertura del círculo está un poco abierta y queremos cerrarla más. Entonces, agregamos más palitos verticales y continuamos tejiendo hasta que el orificio se reduzca o, si se prefiere, hasta que se cierre totalmente.
8- Dejé un poco abierto el orificio. Para cerrar la vuelta, doblamos cada palito y lo pegamos a la pared del tejido.
9- Colocamos los adornos seleccionados para decorar. En la punta, puse una estrella tejida, que enseñaré a hacer en otro post, y un lazo. En la parte de abajo, puse unas bolas y unas ramitas que hice con foami.
El pino navideño no quedó como esperaba, ya que tenía que hacer un cono grande para usarlo como molde y, por eso, no agarró la forma correcta. Lo que ocurrió es que no soy experta y quise intentarlo sin molde. Aun así, no quedó tan mal, porque al decorarlo le da otro aire.
