Description from Strava:
This is my first post using Strava after I've been picking up running again.
I am not a competitive runner, although I used to run a fair bit in the past, including a few 5k and 10k runs, and rode bikes, one regular journey being a 42km round-trip to work.
To begin with, I wasn't sure if C/EXHAUST would be for me, because it sounds, well, exhausting..
However, after I spotted camping and such like in the description, I thought, this might be a home for me sporadically recording my walks (and now jogs) with my dogs after all.
I had tried Actifit, but the step count never seems to reach the number I'm actually doing, and I'm not keen on having an app running all day long either, so this will work much better, I'm hoping!
Over the past couple of weeks I have been putting a few jogs into my walks again, as it was time to shed a few pounds, and I'm glad to say, it works.. My knee does not like me running though, so I am taking it very easily indeed and make sure I'm stretching properly afterwards.
I keep seeing posting his runs, which inspired me to get started again. I have no idea how long I will last this time, but I'll try my best, I can always just walk, which I do anyhow, often up to an hour.
Steve's asked me before to come along to a Parkrun; I had done one in the past, so should still be registered. Who knows, I might even get around to that this time. You are allowed to walk and bring dogs, well behaved ones that is.. Hmmm, that might be a problem. :D
Anyway, this first walk/run this morning took us around Pegnut Wood, one of our favourite ones when it's hot as it's quite shady. It was rather pleasant to move around anyhow though, with the sun not being overpowering and there being a gentle breeze.
Getting round took us just under an hour, which I can't seem to add here manually; bear in mind, that the hour includes walking, stopping for pictures, and chatting to other dog lovers! :D
Thanks, dear Hivers!
I am looking forward to be part of this in some form!
