just finished a 6.83km run, that lasted for 44 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 589.0 calories.
Description from Strava:
Today was the first run since Friday evening, which can be claimed by picking up a random Cold/Flu bug at the end of last week. The sore throat appeared on last Tursday evening, and by Friday afternoon it was apparent it was gonna be getting worse. All of Saturday and most of Sunday was a write off. I wasn't in bed all day, but I was slumped on the sofa watching films, so not much better. Sunday I started to notice improvements, and I was well enough to return to work on Monday.
yep, that was annoying!
Anyway, I took it easy on Monday and Tuesday, and got lifts to and from work both days. Wednesday I managed to get the bus there and back, and today (finally) I felt able to return to normal and walk into work:
I'm still a little snotty, but generally speaking I'm back to normal. And to be fair, I was probably long overdue a few days of proper rest for once, I've been awfully busy lately!
My work day was mostly quite steady, and I was able to catch up on work that I had gotten behind on earlier in the week, which was useful. The weather first thing this morning was dry and chilly, but unfortunately as the day wore on it became wetter and wetter. By the time I left the office at 4pm, it was biblically wet out there. Usually for a Thursday session, I would chose a longer route on purpose so I can get a run of approx. 12-14km. However, with both the rain and the recovering from illness to contend with, I opted to just run the shortest, most direct, route home - 6.7km.
The pace was slower than usual, but I was in no rush, just keeping it easy. And of course when I got back home, it was a case of immediately peeling all the wet clothes off, and heading straight for a nice warm shower.
Now its time to sit and chill for a bit, although I could do some more of my course. I've got a very busy weekend coming up, so maybe it would be a better idea to do some of that this evening...

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
