Description from Strava:
It was another nice day and I decided to venture to the countryside near work. You just have to go under the A1(M) motorway. I have not been over there in a long while, but I knew it would not be muddy.
I started off by having a look at the track near the caravan park. It can be messy down there, but it was so overgrown that I was not going to try it. There is some other fenced in land next to it, but I could skirt around it. From there it is downhill. I know some routes around there, but was not sure if they would be usable. I had a look at going along the road, but did not fancy that and so turned back.
I was going to have to get back up the hill whichever way I went and it was hard work. I did not see many people around, but a guy was running down as I came up. Then I diverted off to loop around some big fields to get to the other underpass. The bluebells in the woods were pretty.
I cut a corner off that on a path I had not used before that went behind some houses I normally see the the front of. One had a load of big animal statues in the garden that hardly anyone would see.
Then it was a short jog back to the office for a shower. I ended up going a little further than I had planned and the pace was not too bad. My watched showed it a little slower than Strava, but the latter ignores standing time and I did stop to consult the map a couple of times.
Podcast listening was Cyndi Lauper on Desert Island Discs and another episode of Add to Playlist. I should soon catch up with that show having listened from the start.
On the TV front we just finished The Residence on Netflix. It's a really fun murder mystery set in the White House.
Run free!
