Description from Strava:
Yesterday we were helping a friend sort out his house. I disassembled a load of furniture and carried it down stairs, so I had a good workout despite missing parkrun.
It rained on Friday night after several dry weeks. This morning there were some clouds, but the first thing to hit me was the wind in my face as I came out of the gate. I did my long loop around the villages, so it started with the run up the hill to Fairfield. I realised early on that I was short of podcasts, so I stopped to download a couple more to keep me going.
I felt a few drops of rain, but nothing serious and it was generally good for running. I saw a few other runners out today. At this time of year people are training for events, but I have nothing booked. As I came out of the other side of Stotfold the rain started properly. The straight track across the fields is pretty exposed and it was hitting me on my right side. I passed a guy who was sheltering by some bushes, but I kept on going. I was soon soaked through and my shirt felt like it was dragging me down as well as my shoes feeling heavier. It was not too cold though.
I kept going all the way home, but took the direct route. My last podcast finished when I was nearly there. I had to strip off to get dry before having some breakfast. Running in the rain is not so bad, especially if it is not all the way through. Starting a run in the rain is less inspiring.
I plan to chill out a bit today, but it is a holiday tomorrow, so I can get some chores done. We still have plenty to do in the garden.
