Description from Strava:
Sunday is when I do not have to set an alarm, but I like to get out for a run at a reasonable time so I still have some morning and I do not have breakfast until I get back. It was not looking too bad out there.
Everything was a little damp and I did not fancy getting very muddy. I decided to head towards Shefford via Champney's spa. That meant a bit of a muddy track past the parkrun course, but it was not too bad and it is away from the main roads.
I ran up the path from the station onto the bridge and noticed there are loads of drink cans in the trees at the side. They looked like Red Stripe so someone has done a lot of drinking. Later I passed the playing field in Henlow that is in a big dip by the church. There was some football going on there.
The route goes up and down a bit to make it challenging, but there are no really steep hills. I saw a few other runners out there, some more than once. They were all going the other way so there was no overtaking going on.
The pace was quite good. It is not a lot slower than I did at parkrun, but that feels significantly harder. I may need to do my training runs quicker to get my body used to it, but on these longer runs I do not really want to worry about pace.
Podcast listening was a mix of talk about drumming, Linux and the science of sleep. On the wildlife front I saw a couple of squirrels.
As I had breakfast afterwards someone came to take away our old sofa/couch, so I had to help load that into the van.
As usual there are some chores to do today, but I am chilling with a coffee first whilst I write this up for Hive. I have a few running friends on there who I have not actually met, but we support each other.
Enjoy your Sunday and run free.
