My parkrun yesterday had me feeling good, if a little tired. This morning I wanted to do an easy long run. It may rain later, but it was looking okay out there.
As with a lot of my runs it started by heading up to Fairfield. I was trying to stay in heart zone two, but I gave up on that for some of the run as it kept drifting up. I still kept the pace easy and it did not feel too hard. Even going up the hills was not too bad. I took the path over to the Greenway and on to Standalone Farm. I was surprised that it was quite busy. It looks like there is a Cubs and Scouts event where the kids are walking around there. Some had parents with them. They were going the opposite way so I had to make my way through the groups. The Greenway Half Marathon was last weekend, but I had not been planning to do it this time.
I followed the road through Letchworth and Norton where it was a bit quieter. This route goes up and down a fair bit, but my legs were fine. I did see some other runners out there.
I rejoined the Greenway in Radwell Meadows where I saw more Scouts. One group of boys were in inflatable dinosaur costumes. Instead of going on to Stotfold as I normally do I went back the way I came to Fairfield and completed the loop around that before the downhill stretch back to Arlesey.
It felt like a good run. This will add to my distance for the Move in May challenge, but two of my colleagues walked a whole marathon for a charity event last night, so well done to Bella and Tania. That will boost their distance a lot. I am not sure I have ever walked that far and I have never run a marathon, yet.
Run free!
