Another lovely sunny day here. It has been a while since I did any fast intervals, so I went up to West Drive to do some there. There is a 300m stretch from the first road hump to the bollards that block access to Fairfield and it rises 6m. That climb adds to the effort required. You can see I was taking it easy on the way down as I needed to recover.
I aim to do that segment at under 5min/km, but was struggling on the last couple. I ought to do this workout every week to build that speed. GAP is the grade adjusted pace that gives some idea of what the equivalent would be on the flat. I would love to be able to sustain that pace.
It was a good workout overall. At some point I may be going into the office more often and that will make it harder to do morning runs, so I need to make the most of this time. I used to do lunchtime runs from the office as they have showers, so I may have to go back to that eventually to get my runs in each week. I just do not fancy getting up at 6am to run before work as I did those early starts for many years in my last job.
Run free and stay well.
