It is fascinating to know that we bear witness to a technological age which makes the past occurrences intriguing in contrast.
I was stuck in traffic and drinking in the picturesque view of the blend of nature, buildings, traffic and hawkers, and all I could say was; this is an art, breathing life.
In that moment, all I could wish for was artistic skills, paints, brushes and canvas to capture the scenes in a frozen way. but I'm no artist, hence I enjoyed the view in peace.!
Being in the spirit of a wish-to-be artist, I began to wonder about the evolution of photography. I decided to do a little reading on that and was awed to know the first photo ever taking with camera was done in 1926s by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce and it was called "View from the Window at Le Gras,". You can read more about this here
In human history and in ancient times, cave drawings, paintings, portraits and silhouette drawings were the means used to capture frozen memories or images. I am not going into details and sciences of the camera evolution as I am no expert, in fact the more i read, the more confused i got, jokes on me
The point I am trying to make in all of this is how technology led to digitization in the sense that, cameras with great resolutions are now available on smart phones.
Gone are the days were taking pictures required going to a photo studio or calling on camera men who walked from houses to houses, or on bicycles, with camera around their necks.
It could take many days for the camera man to return the picture to your house, of which by then, the excitement of seeing your frozen image might have dulled done.
Now, all you need is a smart phone and you can capture ready to view images, with advanced editing options, less hustle.
So yeah, I took my phone, and I clicked clicked and flashed flashed all the way home.
