Hi lovelies, it's another beautiful moment with you , all the prompts for this week are amazing but for today, I will like to share my perspective on love. Truly, love is subjective. It does follow a rule, neither does it have a yardstick. People love differently, little wonder some act crazily while they are in love. To them it was love, but to us, living outside their circumstances, it could be madness. For instance, two popular content creators are in love and the world or their fan base, (to narrow it down) thought they had seen through them and claimed these two people's love was deep and grounded, until the recent happenings. The lady said she wasn't interested again and moved on so fast, the guy's heart was broken and wanted to harm himself. The Nigerian government even sued the guy for attempted suicide. This really shows love is not objective. It is cannot easily be verified no matter the level of public display.
However, the fact that love is deep and couldn't be verified on the surface does not mean unconditional love does not exist. Genuine love truly exists but it's just rare. Also, the issue is that where it exists, it may not be reciprocated. Yes, we call it unrequited love. It's a common theme in literature. You see, people that love wholeheartedly suffer and are taken for granted. They hardly see the ones that will be true to them as they are. Even the few once that love them back, do so conditionally, maybe as a result of seeing how much they care. We have many wives that didn't love their husbands at the beginning, but finally agreed to marry them having considered the genuineness of their love towards them.
Even Jesus Christ, our saviour, was the one that loved us unconditionally from the beginning. We now love Him because He had loved us first, according to 1John 4:19, "We love him, because he first loved us" and sometimes when we think about His kindness towards us, we see reason to surrender unto Him. Hence, when His love is unconditional, ours is conditional.
In fact, I can't forget my experience with my first love. Of course, it was a high school love story. John was my senior but I loved him so deeply. We started our relationship and I sacrificed a lot because my love was sincere towards him, but it was never like that to him. He used to mock my gifts, and talk down on me to his friends. It was so pathetic and a story of rejection but we thank God for today. He never reciprocated nor appreciated the love until he got married years later and suffered so much from the lady he married. They later divorced and he came back to me crying but I already met my husband. Love is truly deep and experienced differently. Above all unconditional love exists, people can love without no clear reasons, but it is rare.
Thanks for stopping by.
