I can't believe I'm finally about to leave this place...well, it's just temporal but this is going to be such a stress reliever.
I woke up very early today with my face filled with smiles. I have been waiting for this day forever and finally, here it is.
It was my third year in senior high school. It had been in the school for almost six months. I was tired, stressed, and sick. This had been the longest I had stayed camped in an institution, with no breaks whatsoever. Since it was the third year, there was no way out.
The only time you could leave the school was when you were done with your final exams or you had a serious condition. Even sick people were sent to the nearest hospital and brought back once they were well.
Some people could hardly bear the stress others felt nothing: they had fully adapted to the school. I was part of those who had had enough of the school. I couldn't eat well, became restless, my studies were hard and I grew lean.
Fortunately, I had a way out. My doctor's appointment was in a few days. The school could do nothing but grant me an exeat. The day finally arrived. The exeat process was a bit tough but I didn't mind. I was ready to do anything to leave the school for even just a day. The process was done with and soon enough my parent pulled up at the school gate. My friends were the first to see them. They told me and I couldn't hide my joy. I was about to leave the school in a jiffy.
A breeze of cool fresh air hit me once I left the school gate. I felt warm blood run through my veins. Finally, I was out of the school and an adventure was set to begin.
The first thing I did once I left the school was eat. Who wouldn't?
My mom claimed I lost way too much weight and didn't hesitate to stuff me with food. I ate amidst smiles.
We got to the hotel where our reservations for the night were made. It was around 5 pm.
I ate more food, relaxed, and took a walk with my mom. I spent time in nature, spent a lot of time with my parents, and told them all that happened in school.
We laughed, and played some games and soon it was time for bed. I went to my room, thanked God for my escape, watched a movie, and retired to bed.
We left for the house the next day.
I spent some time at home and before I realized it was time to go back again. Even though I didn't want to go back, I had to and this time I was ready. I gained new energy and became mentally prepared for my studies, school activities, and ultimately my final exam. Although it wasn't really a vacation, it was an experience worth living.
