Chosing a marriage mate is one of the difficult decision any man or woman face in life.
Most marriages did not last because one of the mate or both feels they are not compatible to each other and they end up separating and divorcing.

A guy meet with a lady online and they started dating, the guy was living in the western part of Nigeria while the lady was in the east, gradually the love seemed like it was growing, the lady believed so much in the guy that she didn't make some research about the guy.
The guy told the lady he was into business and some other things and they lady believe him, funny enough anytime the lady comes visiting the guy will put on pretence, he will leave the house early and come back late convincing the lady that he was into business and she was happy and didn't visit much because of distance, she never knew all were lies.
After six months of dating they both got married and lived together, just few days the lady found out that everything were lies, the man had no business and was looking for who will take up his responsibility, hmmmm the woman felt disappointed and peace left that home.
Day by day so many problem arosed till they both became tired and got separated.
This is something that could be avoided.

Never be desperate.
The above experience might be a result of desperation, the lady was desperate and she didn't look beyond getting married to see the other part of the man.
A desperate woman or man will end up marrying someone who is the opposite of what she or he wanted and at some point the marriage will not last creating more problem especially when the children are involved.
Honesty is a quality that helps marriage to last long because the trust will be there and once there is trust other little things can be managed.
Look beyond physical appearance.
Physical appearance might fade away.
A man married because the woman had beautiful eyes and slim straight legs, after just one year of the marriage the lady was involved in a car accident and she lost her two legs and one of her eyes, hmmmm what will the man do, gradually he developed hatred for the lady and I some point he left the lady for another woman.
Marriage is more than physical appearance it involves the inner person of the heart, someone who is ready to communicate with you because strong communication is the pillar of a lasting marriage.
You can imagine marrying a beautiful woman with cat eyes and beautiful lips but both of you can not freely communicate , every conversation ends with quarrel or bad words how will you feel? So bad!
Or other hand a handsome man who is never ready to listen to you and understand how you feel, he only cares about himself, it would be too bad .
So look for someone who is modest, humble and unselfish, someone who is emotionally intelligent.
Physical beauty does not solve any conflict neither does it bring food to the table.
Look for someone who's respectful.
Yes this is another vital quality to look for in a mate, a woman who doesn't respect a mans headship will bring ruin ti her family because she won't bring up respectful children and she will disgrace the man at any given time.
A woman who has respect will definitely show kindness ti the man she respects so much, a respectful woman even when there is conflict shows understanding in her speech and actions, she doesn't view things only from her own side.
When a man gets respect from the wife it means a lot to him and in most cases such man will reciprocate by caring and loving the woman and the children but if its the opposite peace will be very far from that family.
Look for a skilled woman/ man.
Yes a woman full of skill makes a home, she knows how to manage a home, even when there is little she knows what to do without stress.
When she goes to the market she knows how to negotiate price of goods to save for rainy days, she doesn't want everything to finish at once.
Likewise a skilled man does all he can to put food in the table for the family, hes not lazy, does all kinds of work and even helps the wife in some house chores.
Look for someone who's romantic.
Yes this is a quality that bounds couple together, as they go for their daily activity they wil always remember how romantic their mates are and they will long for just their mate not other person out there.
