We all want a title, this is because it comes with some sense of accomplishment, making one proud in holding a place of honor. This is not wrong, exceptional acts should be rewarded. Of recent the heart of young people were stirred to accomplish a record after Hilda Bassey broke the cook-a-thon record with the longest hour of cooking, there has been more people wanting to show their prowess and while breaking a record, more holders are losing their titles and this is only a way of saying "I have seen your record but I believe I can do better. Healthy competition is not bad.
The struggle for dominance didn't begin today. We live in a world where the best survives and this goes with every area of life. In us there's greatness, this can only be showcased if a platform like this is opened. The quest to hold a place in the Guinness book of record has helped the world discover people of great talent and this had encouraged the sloths to take up their might and do something that the world would marvel at. It's okay to win, it's okay to fail- and this is what keeps the balance. If there's no competition, people wouldn't do better.
This reminds me of my primary school days, the competition was there on who would come the top in the class. It made us read more than we do and we tried our best to see that we hold a top position if we already do. This is what made school fun, the competition and it made us brighter. An institute without a competition, a healthy competition, remains dormant and stunted. The competition keeps us doing better and improving in that which we are good at. Everyone wants the best, and we can only know the best in an open platform like the Guinness World book of record.
Like I said, it's okay to win sometimes, and it's okay to lose sometimes. In my opinion the Guinness World Record is not wrong to erase one record to give space to someone who has done better. Every hero deserved an honor and this we see in every section in life. Cry if you want to, but it makes you buckle up, show your exceptional traits if you can, and if it beats that of another , it's a well deserved honor. The only wrong is putting envy in a healthy competition.
