I remember back in primary school How I joined the Debate Club and participated in various competitions across different schools and even within, there were different interesting topics we argued about and I also remember how I would practice my point at Home in front of a mirror by constantly repeating the word so that I can beat my opponent in the competition.
I was so good in this that I represented my school and did perfectly well. Some of such topics include :Democracy government is better than military government,
Male child and female child which one is more important to our parents, Public school is better than private school, doctor is better than teacher, Internet has done more harm than Good to the life of students and so many more.
For the purpose of this prompt which is to argue for which is better between a teacher and doctor, I would like to argue for a teacher based on life experiences.
**THE ARGUMENTS **
Good day ladies and gentleman, panel of judges, accurate timekeeper, co-debaters and my fellow opponents. My name is Henrietta and I am here to support the motion which says that teachers are more important in than doctors.
Firstly, as we are all aware the teaching profession is the Foundation of all other professions. Every other professions such as doctors, bankers, economist, lawyers, nurses and so on, were once a student taught by a teacher. The teaching profession is one that exist so as to train up a child right from a young tender age to become whatever they would want to be in the future. No one can attain other professions without being educated.
In other words, teachers lay the foundations for intellectual knowledge. Based on real life experience we can see that teachers have shaped the society by discovering talents, and pushing people to become the best they can be in the course of their lives. Hence, they taught us how to learn and how to read, think critically, solve problems, and understand our society and the world at large.
Again, teachers have used education to cover almost all sectors that has to deal with health Education, physically education, mental education and so on, they Guide Our intellect by teaching us about the various diseases and preventive measures that can refer us to a doctor. The offer teaching on the different areas such as HIV, hygiene, healthy living, diabetes and so on.
With this few points of mine I hope I have been able to convince you but not to confuse you that teachers are viable assets to our community and the world at large.
Doctors are amazing by the way, as they save lives literally.
