Hello guys,
How are we all doing? Hive Ghana has been growing substantially and i am glad to see how far we have come and i am optimistic about how far we would be going, as we all have come to know, learn and understand, it takes two to tango and the work of where we wish to be tomorrow starts from you and me.
Baby steps, yes, but the most important thing is taking those steps and making efforts toward achieving those goals, dreams, aspirations, expectations, etc. No one is going to put you in the place you want to be, you have to take action and make effort. This is why I decided to use this opportunity to participate in the Experience challenge, my goal is to encourage newbies by telling them my story so they may be motivated to share and do more.
Introduction
5 years ago somewhere around this time ,
,
,
and some few other individuals came to KNUST campus for i think the second on third time to talk about the blockchain, during this visit one of my high school colleagues heard what they preached and came to talk to me about it, a place to share my diverse talents as he knows i may have and a chance to learn as he knew i was an inquisitive person.
The beginning was the hardest as usual, i didn't know anyone on the blockchain to guide me or aid me, since i wasn't around during the campaign or promo i didn't have access to any of these individuals, and so i read as much as i can and started from what i knew, my knowledge in health and music. Then i got lucky and got access to Ghana's discord channel, and that was when i was invited for my first-ever meetup at the Kumasi City Mall.
This attendance opened doorways for me as i was exposed to knowledge and guidance from who then became my mentor and has been since then. Together we run diverse social impacting projects for communities in terms of health, education and the girl child. We have become best friends since then and over the years i got to meet great individuals of the blockchain who helped me in diverse ways i could have never imagined.
Currently
So fast forward to today, Mcsamm is currently managing Hive Ghana's projects with Collinz and i get to part of a great team of friends impacting lives and societies in Ghana. Currently there is the borehole project ongoing with which the 8th one would be commissioning tomorrow, kindly find the announcement of that in the Hive Ghana community or Mcsamm's blog. There are books distributions and pens to support education going on all across the country.
And there's also the Health aspect, which is becoming a big part of our projects here in Ghana. Aside from these beautiful people that have come to be a part of my life for which i will forever be grateful, Hive has also helped me hone my talent as a musician. As a choral musician, i was more about classical music and hymns however a community like Hive Open Mic inspired me to try other genres for which i was received with much love and appreciation for my skill and voice. And so now i have broadened my knowledge and skill set in music.
The Stemsocial community also welcomed me with open arms and i meant others who were as enthusiastic about science and health generally as i was and through them, i was motivated to learn more so i could share more. I also learned about different conditions, diseases, latest research and even bird species i never knew about, credit to for those amazing writeups. And today i can say i am a proud Hiver (i dunno if that term is official yet).
To the Newbie
The beginning may look difficult but there's no better place to learn and have fun whiles sharing your passion than the Hive blockchain. The most important thing is to stick within your niche, know what you are good at and what motivates you to be here and find the community that supports your ideas and skill set.
While learning, don't forget to share, and even more importantly, be consistent. Great content writers are consistent because the more you do it the more you learn from yourself and better yourself, the recommendations and guides from others as you share would also help you become a better version of yourself and one day you will it easier to just sit behind your laptop and tell us about the new discovery you made.
Last but not least, engagement is key, the only way to build friendship, connect and meet new people is to engage, read, comment, share, discuss, do not miss out on virtual and in-person meetings, join discord channels for parties, when you local community has a meetup like what was held in Ghana in January where we toured KNUST and spoke to people about Hive, you join and you learn and grow. These are the best ways to grow and i can assure that if you follow these key points things will work out fine for you.
Conclusion
So do not relent, do not be dismayed if things seem a bit confusing at first, find a mentor to teach and guide you. Just as i always say when i doubt speak to a professional, in this case though, speak to a more experience person, one who knows better than you, have been here for quite a while and take in their guidance and you should be fine as you progress.
We all need a helping hand, do not be afraid to ask for help, neither should you be shy. The Ghanaian community welcomes you with open arms. Share your talent with us so we may share ours with you. It is such a pleasure to be here once again and i do hope this spoke to someone reading me today. I wish us all a blissful week in the days ahead. Stay safe and have wonderful time. Cheers!
