I just got off the phone with junior sister in the university. So the whole issue is that she’s always needs money every two days days no matter how much you give her. I don’t know what exactly she’s using the money for but I do know it’s not for any important stuff.

In todays words, money is very important and how you manage your finances say a lot about you. I knew my way around money at a very tender age because I started saving for stuff I needed with the help of my mom and that groomed me to value money and use it wisely. I’ve learnt to save money, invest money in stuff that are likely to give me more money and also spend what I have wisely because money goes and come.
Financial literacy isn’t something you learn in school or anywhere. You learn from people and from your own personal experiences. With the inflation rate today, no one will tell you to always take advantage of some stuff so as to save more money. I didn’t take any financial literacy course in school but I’m doing just fine currently. But, I can’t say same for my dear sister.
It’s either she’s just spoilt if she’s refusing to learn because she knows I will always provide for her no matter the situation and I’m genuinely worried about her and how she handle’s money. I’ve spoken to her a lot but it just seems to be the same still. Personally, I’d like to believe that maybe if she took a financial literacy course in school way back things would have been a lot better. Because outside of school, you would be dealing with money and if you have no idea how fo go about it, you’d be found wanting.

But then, myself and my mom have been teaching her a lot about finances yet it’s literally the same still. There’s been a lot of improvement though but not to the extent that we expect. But hopefully, she starts to do better than she’s doing now. Financial literacy is very important in the life of every individual and I believe if schools should adopt the idea of teaching kids on finances and how to manage them as they go through the schooling system, there’d be a lot of improvement in our youth than what we are seeing today. My humble thoughts.
