You guys, let’s put jokes aside okay. If they’re to be arresting stingy people, my next door neighbour would be the first to be arrested because this level of stinginess is out of the world. Over the years, I’ve moved around so much such that I’ve had a number of neighbours. And one thing about me is that, I don’t really know my neighbours most at times.
I’m not one to really engage people that much because what business do I have with you? Aside greeting you and speaking about things that concern the house when necessary , I wouldn’t say I have any business with my neighbours. I mean you wouldn’t even see me at home most of the time so when would we even get to be talking to each other?
I moved into this new place over a year ago and it’s been so peaceful so far. If there’s a reason why I’m still here, then it’s because of the peace and quiet I have here. No one disturbs me here and everyone is always out and about their business. You only see people in the house hang out once in a while. So , it’s been all peaceful around here until about two months ago. We had some spare rooms because some tenants moved out last year. I happened to be sharing a meter for electricity with one lady but she also left so I was using it alone until we had new tenants. I was there when our caretakers called to tell me we have new people in the house and they’re paired with me so we have to share the meter together and buy electricity together when it’s exhausted.
That’s when my headache and high blood pressure started. Turns out these new tenants were a family of 3. I received a call from an unknown number only to find out it was the husband and he just called to inform me that they’re in. I said okay. A few weeks later, our power got exhausted and we needed to recharge. This man started giving me stories about how they just arrived and they have to buy power. When it was power I bought with my money he and his family have been using all this while.
From there, I knew I was in for it. I told him it was okay and went ahead to buy it alone. I also happened to travel that week and he and he family enjoyed in it until I got back and two weeks later it got exhausted so out of guilt he decided to recharge. Apparently, he recharged power worth of 40gh which is not even up to $3 and that lasted us less than a week. Then he came to complain that the meter has a problem.😂 And I’m like who buys power worth or $3 in todays Ghana.
That’s how this man has been tormenting my life since then. Recently, he said he won’t contribute to buy power anymore cos it doesn’t last and personally I didn’t mind because I won’t allow anyone inconvenience me so I went ahead to buy it and he and his family are shamelessly enjoying it. Today, they will sleep in the dark because I know the power will run out but yeah, I won’t be here to suffer with them for a while. Let’s see how a stingy man manages with this. Now, tell me if this man doesn’t deserve to be arrested or even voted in as the president of the stingy men association.😅
