In Akwa lbom state, Nigeria. I think my set were the pioneer set to have benefitted the free and compulsory education, and this were all the great work of the governor as at that time.
He was a true leader, who rule not for the rich alone, but for everyone in the state, irrespective of their social classes. That is why, up till today, the people of the state, are still proud of his enormous work, in uplifting and transforming the life's of the people in the state.
In short, he was a man who put thing's in order, and shown lights to the people that was living in darkness.
That apart, when this universal basic education privilege's came, we were not allow to pay a dime in the school anymore. we used to go to school with broom once a week, but it was put to an end, when this universal basic education privilege's came.
The state universal education board sent some men that were in charge of cutting the school field, that makes the school compound to always look tidy, and we the pupil's, we were just learning in a very beautiful environment, without stressed. And the best part of it was that, on every break time, foods were made available for each of the children's.
Truth be told, I love food, and it was making me to behave very well in class, because, i didn't want to get punished in anyway or have something to do with anybody that will make the teacher to get angry with me, school was now becoming, not just a school, but a place where delicious meals were prepared for the future leaders. 😁🤣
Some town guy's used to come and have a taste of our meal, it seems, if it was possible for them, they will have gladly change their age to become children's again. 😁🤣
You see, in every town, they will be some set of children's that do not like school's. The deal is, those children's has already make their decision, from the very first day the came to this earth that, school was not for them, but do you know what? the game was changing 😁🤣
For the fact that, school was becoming not just a school, but a place where the children's received delicious meals on break time, we see those that do not like schools started coming to school as well, and on a long run, they as well were taking school serious like us.
A lot of parents were very happy with the way things were going, it surely helps, as we did not pay fees anymore, but the state government were paying for each students.
It was to continue to the secondary school, but as we know, each government always came with a different agenda. Many children enjoy the universal education privilege then, and even today, they still do, but not fully as it was.
In the secondary school, it was still the same thing, unless you were a boarding student. Although, things do not exactly remain the same till today, in the government primary and secondary schools.
But, in my state, the government still shows concerned for the students, in paying for fee's, and this has not just help the students, it makes thing's easier in the life of the people in general.
