I have never been a big fan of playing tricks on people. Sure it could be so fun especially if the person being tricked has absolutely no idea they were being tricked. The look on their face at the end would be so funny. Some of those moments can also be priceless.
I don't play pranks on people but I do get pranked on, sometimes by my friends and other times by families.
I recalled a time at my place of work then, two of my colleagues-turned-friends knew just how much I love food and they would decide to hide my food flask and act like they didn't know where it was. We would be looking for it together before they would decide to "pity" me and let me have it.
Other times they have tricked me into doing some things and we end up laughing at the end of it all. What I love about them is that they never take it too far.
Another person who loved to trick me was my older brother. I don't think I can ever understand the kind of joy he derives in playing tricks on me.
A few years back, I remember it was on a sunny day and we were both in the sitting room(myself and my brother). It turned out that we had a very hot weather condition and there was no power supply to switch on the fan as that would have helped reduce the heat. So my brother and I turned to the next alternative which is the use of our plastic handfan.
I was sitting on the chair and "fanning myself" and my brother was also using the other handfan to "fan" himself when all of a sudden, he decided that we play a game.
The game was that we should take turns "fanning" each other and he said it would be an imitation of some of the movies we watch where the king will sit down while one of his servants will use their big hand fan to "fan" him.
He suggested we "fan" each other 100 times using the two handfans simultaneously. I suspected he was trying to trick me but he said when it gets to his turn he would "fan" me 200 times.
I mean I knew it was too good to be true but I was already picturing the way I would sit like a royal queen and have my servant "fan" me while I will just sit on the chair enjoying myself. I even thought of getting water in a cup to substitute for drinks I would sip while the "fanning" was ongoing.
In the end, I agreed and of course, I had to go first. I started using both handfans to fan him and he was enjoying himself feeling like a king. I knew I should have suspected him when he decided to lie down on the floor but I just continued with the fanning and also counting it.
I recall I was happy when I started counting 91, 92,93...till I got to 100. It was when I stopped that I noticed he had slept off. I called his name and he didn't budge. It was then I knew I had been tricked as always.
For me, some of these pranks can be a funny thing we can all laugh over after a while, as long as it's a healthy kind of trick then I won't have any problems with it.
