Breast cancer is when a breast cell mutates and becomes a cancerous cell that multiplies and becomes a tumor. I've heard of people who suffered from breast cancer which ended up in a surgery known as mastectomy- often on a higher stage of the cancer. Both male and female suffer from breast cancer, though it's more common among the females. Scientists haven't really discovered the underlying cause of breast cancer that triggers the change in cell leading to mutation but had few things they assume could. About 80% of breast cancer cases are invasive- they spread to other parts of the body.
Cancer type
There are different types of breast cancer and this is to help tailor treatment, in knowing a preferable treatment to give.
1.Invasive ductal carcinoma: This cancer starts in the milk ducts and spread to other breast tissues
2.Lobular breast cancer: This starts from the milk producing gland and spread to the breast tissues
3.Ductal carcinoma in In situ: This starts from the milk ducts, but doesn't spread outside the milk duct.
Symptoms
There are a few things that are believed to be symptoms of breast cancer probably from diagnosis of previous victims.
1.Change in the size, shape, and contour of a breast
2.A lump or thickening around the breast
3.A change in the color or feel of one's skin
4.A mass or lump which may feel small as a peas
5.discharge or blood stain from one's nipple.
Causes
Medics aren't sure what leads to the mutation of breast cells but there are a few things they consider to lead to a higher chance of one developing breast cancer.
1.Age: Often 55 and above
2.Sex: Female are likely to develop this condition compare to the male
3.Family History: Sometimes it traces down to one's family if any member of the family had at a point developed a breast cancer
4.Genetics: From inherited genetic mutation
5.smoking
6.Drinking beverages containing alcohol
7.Obesity
8.Exposure to radiation
Etc.
Treatment
Surgery for breast cancer includes.
1.Mastectomy
2.Lumpectomy
3.Breast Reconstruction
Etc.
Even though starting treatment in its early stage could save it from developing into stages with widespread effects that lead to surgery, people believe fondling of the breast could prevent breast cancer. I don't know how true it is, but people who fondle their breasts realize they rarely come up with such cases.
I know it's difficult living life with one or two of one's breasts removed , it's however important that we show them love in times of such difficulties. If the rumors of fondling are true to prevent breast cancer, then I advise that girls fondle them more. Some cultures celebrate this breast cancer day by going braless, however, it's important for the women to know they're loved.
