How are you all? Hello!
For this week's prompt, I'd be responding to the question, one thing that you love about your country? If you wish to check it out, do that here.
Let's begin.
I probably would have had a squabble if I was not born Nigerian, with the angel in charge of babies placement. Lol.
The giant of Africa, Nigeria is a blessed land and home to people of various differences. Even at that, unity and love is not absent amongst us.
One thing I very much love about my country is the ability to stand by and love one another.
Remember the endsars saga in 2020? I know you read, heard or watched it. That was one of the many times Nigerians; of different tribes, beliefs, status, ages, name it, came together for a course. It was a terrible time but we could see the power we had and the force we possess when we pitched our voices and worked as one.
For days, people contributed their time, money, food, properties, presence(online & office), in different locations that they dwell(home & abroad) to speak as one people.
We never look away from an opportunity to be there for ourselves.
Few months ago, a lady, Hilda Baci, got involved in a cook-a-thon and people trooped in their numbers to the venue where the event was being held to cheer her on. She is Akwa Ibom but in that event, people of different tribes, religions and views put all those aside. No, it's not anything that is normal. Until then, Hilda was no public figure or anything.
Nigerians were only being Nigerians. Doing one of the things they know best...pitching one of them to greatness. For us, a win for one is a win for all.
We might quarrel and bant alot amongst ourselves but that is that. But it doesn't stop us from rendering a hand the next minute. It's all about "our own". Home and abroad, we'd choose us. The love is a hundred. The brotherhood is unshaken. The understanding we have as it concerns ourselves is admirable.
That we can put sentiments and difference aside and hold us and support us is loveable.
Apart from the infrequent and sometimes fun clashes, we're just one large, colorful happy family.
Thanks for stopping by.
