I used to be annoyed at seeing a player's minor league stats, but nowadays I really like seeing them.
Not going to lie, I thought Podsednik was more of a power hitter, but actually he was more of a contact hitter and a speed demon as a pro.
Podsednik's rookie season came as a 27 year old in 2003 and man, he really took advantage of his opportunity as soon as he got to the big show. His .314 average, 58 RBIs, 29 doubles, and 8 triples he recorded that season would end up being career highs for Scott. Those numbers plus stealing 43 bases led to Scott placing second in rookie of the year votes that season.
In 2004 Scott led the National League in stolen bases with 70 stolen bases!!
Scott likely became best known for his time on the White Sox though. In 2005 he was an All-Star for his first and only time in his career AND he won a World Series with the team as well, in the same season!
Scott hit a walk off shot in game two of that World Series!!!
Scott retired after the 2012 season with 1,096 hits, 42 home runs, 309 stolen bases, and a .281 batting average.
