Another nice blue opening day card. I'm a Titans fan what can I say?
Shawn Green is another legend from my childhood. I remember him being a great hitter and really athletic.
He ultimately didn't won a boat load of awards but I distinctly remember him being one of the greatest players of his time. Shawn Green played from 1993-2007 although his official rookie season came in 1995 and he placed fifth in Rookie of the Year voting that year.
From 1995 until 2007 Green would play in an average of 149 games per season!
Shawn Green had some serious power as his career high in home runs was 49 in 2001. He could also steal some bases in his prime. Green's career high in stolen bases is 35 and he did that in 1998. From 1998-2001 Green stole at least 20 bases.
Green went to two All-Star games, won a Gold Glove and a Silver Slugger, and placed top 10 in MVP votes three times including placing 5th in 2002.
Green retired after 2007 with 2,003 hits, 328 home runs, 1,070 RBIs, and a .283 batting average. Those are some legit career totals!
