George Shuba was primarily a depth guy and pinch hitter in his time in the big leagues. He played from 1948-1955 although 1951 was spent mostly in the minors.
The man's entire stat line is shown on the card, although baseball reference gives him a slight boost in stats. The pinch hit home run he hit in the World Series was the first pinch hit homer hit by a National League player.
Shuba is also known for being captured shaking Jackie Robinson's hand after his first homer in the minor leagues. It's a very iconic photo for good reason!
Shuba actually just relatively recently passed away in 2014. He was the last living Dodger to appear in and win the 1955 World Series!
