These old Score cards are pretty unique. I think there's some game that could be played with the cards, or they were supposed to mimic playing cards. They're rounded at the corners.
For whatever reason, Mike Sweeney is a name that sticks in my mind as one of the first pro baseball player names that I remember. It may have been either from a video game or from hearing a kid in school talk about Sweeney.
It may have also simply been because Sweeney was a pretty solid pro baseball player from 1995-2010. 13 of those 16 seasons were spent in a Royals uniform. He was also a Phillie, an Athletic, and a Mariner.
Sweeney is a 5x All-Star, including four straight appearances from 2000-2003. Throughout his craeer, Sweeney homered 215 times, had 1,500+ hits with a very good .297 batting average.
Sweeney and the city seem to have a mutual love and he's been active in the KC community for years. He was the Royals Team Captain from 2003-2007 and he's been inducted into the team's Hall of Fame.
