Francisco Rodriguez is one of the best relief pitchers/closers major league baseball has ever seen.
He started off his career in a big way with the Angels, playing for them from 2002-2008. In 2002, Rodriguez was a late season addition to the team, and the 20 year old rookie Rodriguez helped the Angels go on a fantastic playoff run and eventually win the World Series.
Rodriguez was not a one hit wonder though, over the next decade and a half, he'd establish himself as a high quality/elite closer. While with the Angels, Rodriguez was a 3x All-Star and placed top five in Cy Young voting three times. In Rodriguez's last season as an Angel in 2008, he broke the MLB record for saves in a season. The previous record was 57, and he got to 62! Pretty nice way to end his Angels career.
Pretty legendary.

He then joined the Mets for about two and a half seasons, and was an All-Star there. Then he joined the Brewers for about four seasons with a stint in Baltimore in between, but he was a 2x All-Star with the Brewers.
Francisco had two decent years as a Tiger in 2016 and 2017. He played in the minors here and there before last playing in Mexico in 2019.
There's a decent chance he'll be a Hall of Famer!
