David Murphy was a pretty good baseball player from 2006-2015 with the Red Sox, Rangers, Indians and Angels. A solid decade long MLB career, not too shabby.
That makes this card a pretty solid find! I guess this would be considered a rookie card? With baseball and the minor leagues that's a bit confusing. Either way it's close enough! It says first year on it anyway LOL.
Murphy played 66 combined games in 2006 and 2007, but in 2008 he played 108 with the Rangers and from that point on Murphy established himself as an everyday player. Murphy spent roughly six and a half seasons with the Rangers. One of his best overall seasons came in 2012 while a Ranger when he hit 15 homers, 61 RBIs, had a .304 batting average and a .479 slugging percentage.
Murphy played a handful of games in the minors in 2016 before retiring soon after.
Murphy ultimately finished his career with 950 hits, 104 home runs and a .274 batting average.
