Adam Kennedy was a solid second baseman from the 2000's and the very early 2010's. I wasn't always the biggest fan since he was on the Angels, but I do have respect for him as a player.
Years 2000-2006 were Kennedy's ultimate prime. He was an everyday player for the Angels at second base. In those seven seasons Kennedy played an average of 142 games a season. In 2000, Kennedy placed sixth in Rookie of the Year voting, and in 2002 he was ALCS MVP and helped the Angels win the World Series over the Giants.
In Game 5 of the 2002 ALCS Kennedy blasted three home runs to help the Angels win the pennant and as I said he also won the MVP award in that series. What's extra nutty about Kennedy accomplishing that is, Kennedy was far from a power hitter normally. Over Kennedy's fourteen year career he only had 80 total homeruns. In that 2002 season Kennedy only had 7 homers.
Just nuts. He really was focused that game.
Kennedy retired after the 2012 season with 1,488 hits, 571 RBIs, and a .272 batting average.
