Mark Mulder chucking the ball in that CLEAN A's uniform. When life was simpler. Good times.
The early 2000's Athletics were a really fun bunch. Leading the way for that team was the team's 'big three' starting pitchers in Barry Zito, Tim Hudson and of course Mark Mulder!
For a solid half-decade from 2001-2005 Mark Mulder was an elite pitcher in major league baseball and he nearly won a Cy Young in 2001 placing second behind the legend Roger Clemens.
From 2001-2005 Mark averaged 17.6 wins a season and he earned two consecutive All-Star appearances in 2003 and 2004.
Mark's career came to a bit of a quick decline due to injuries beginning in 2006. It's crazy man, I used to think the world of Mark as an A's fan, he could have been a legend had he stayed healthy.
In a nine year career, six of which were pretty much fully healthy, Mark still managed to pass 100 wins and really make his mark in the game. That 2001-2005 run is pretty crazy underrated in my opinion. He retired with a 4.18 ERA.
