I have the vaguest memory of my big brother telling me just how great Deion Sanders was, I think my mom even liked him and she doesn't even care about sports for the most part.
Now as a grown man I realize how cool this shabby little card is. Deion Sanders is a sports legend!! Looking up Deion is an absolute treat for a sports nerd like me.
Deion Sanders was an absolute NFL legend as a cornerback AND a serviceable, capable MLB outfielder!!! I don't know why, but looking him up in more detail is really cool. I'm glad I own this card!
Deion Sanders is the only athlete to ever play in both the Super Bowl AND the World Series!
Deion was a better NFL player, but who knows, maybe Deion would have been even better than he was at baseball had he committed to it more. Deion took football more seriously.
In football, Sanders is drowning in awards from his playing days in mainly the 90's. To name just a few awards from the NFL, Sanders is a 2x Super Bowl Champion, 1x Defensive Player of the Year, 6x First-Team All-Pro, 8x Pro Bowler and he's on the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. Deion Sanders ruled the 90's.
Sanders was also a good return man throughout his NFL career. He returned a combined 367 punt and kick returns. He had returned 6 punts for a TD and 3 kick returns for a TD.
In 1996 the Cowboys said screw it, and put him at receiver and the man had 36 receptions for 475 yards and a score. Just put Deion at QB at this point.
Baseball
Even though Deion was a mega star in football, from 1989-2001 Sanders played a fair amount of baseball, like a surprising amount. He played for the Yankees, Braves, Giants and Reds. He never played a full a season due to football but he played 90+ games from 1992-1994 and he played a career high 115 games in 1997. In total, Deon played 641 career games in the MLB, very close to an equivalent of four full seasons. He also played in 13 playoff games including 4 in the 1992 World Series.
This is just insane.

I guess this card is a bit cooler since Sanders played in the World Series in 1992. My word.
Sanders led the the MLB in triples in 1992 and he only played in 97 games that season. This guy is amazing.
I mean the accomplishments of Deion Sanders are just out of this world. Sanders ran track in college too. Wut.
Nowadays, Sanders has been coaching college football, and coaching well. He is about to enter his first season as the head coach of Colorado this fall. Pretty big school.
Sanders is in the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The impact Sanders has made on American sports is just immeasurable. Truly different and truly a legend. Glad I have this card, baseball ones of Deion are maybe a bit rarer too.
