polygamy is a practice of having more than one wife at a time. The source of this could be traced back to our forefather's where they engage in farming. They practice this polygamy of a thing because they they need someone that would assist them on the farm,with this, they belief their wives and children,having many wives will bring forth many children and they help them on their farm. They were able to feed and take care of themselves.
But nowadays, this polygamy of a thing has become something trending especially here in Nigeria. Among the riches,they entice women's with their wealth which result in marrying many wives to show how wealthy they are to the society.
The celebrity also is not excluded in this. It is what is trending among them now , they marry many spouses to show the world how capable they are. They entice women's with their popularity and fame.
In the aspect of religion, the muslims as part of their beliefs that it was written in the Quran they should give birth and multiply in size as far as they are capable of giving birth. This make them get married to many spouse as they wanted all because of beliefs.
This so called polygamy has affected the country negatively, its one of the causes of poverty which everyone is not pleased with. A poor man that marries three wives will bring forth a generation of poverty. A family where the children are unable to school, fending by themselves at a young age all in the name of being a muslim.
In my opinion, i think they should ban polygamy , no man should never try marrying more than one wife.if we are willing to get off of this poverty of a thing in our country because if we should say the ones that are rich should start giving the poor ones money there wont be changes if this polygamy of a thing still exist.
