a useless clue I gave y'all
Welcome to the second edition of the art&3D series in which I share some art that I print talking about the art and how the print went.
We started the series with a bang with a 50 hive contest to guess what art piece I will be sharing with you all in this post, link to the start of the series/contest announcement post
Contest Reveal
I know it was hard but I am fairly disappointed with the participations, 50 hive is a reasonable prize I would say, we only had 2 participants and as a way to teach everyone else that didn't participate a lesson I am offering the 2 participants 10 HBI units all you guys need to do is comment on this post with "Ama need that 10 eh" 🤣
The participants

another useless clue I gave y'all
The Art
There is not much information I could find on it besides the website where I found the model link to it here
here is all that is to offer on there
Wood, Kerala, South India. End of the 18th Century.
Art & History Museum, Brussels, Belgium.
Inv. EO2631
The original this scan/3d print is based on is made out of wood not very impressive but I still love the design.

The Print
Part of why I said this is my favourite print to date is because not only is it huge it came out great first time and the supports broke off like butter, I actually printed it upside down and I think that was a good call it reduced the need for supports, I printed it with a 0.2 mm layer height, I could have gotten more details out going with a 0.1 or even 0.05 layer height but that would make the print a lot longer it took about 17 hours to print as is and I used this nice white silk PLA it looks amazing but unfortunately these nice looking silk plastics are not very strong, I want to print another of these slightly bigger and with a stronger material, I was thinking it would be cool to use this to make some sort of small table perhaps a project for the future.
