When I was in secondary school, I used to long for the day I would graduate and finally be free from teachers, assignments, and school stress. I couldn’t wait to become an adult so I could do whatever I liked…

Now I am an adult who misses those days of being young.
Back then, I didn’t have to worry about responsibilities. All I had to do was eat, go to school, and think about assignments. But life is more complicated now…
I am now a man with a family to take care of. I am now in the same position my father was in; no matter what happens, the family must eat. Even if he doesn’t eat, the family must eat. Bills must be paid, expenses must be settled… and to make it worse, there are not enough good opportunities to match the effort many people put in daily.

In the end, we can’t go back to our childhood days when life felt free and simple. We just have to learn how to survive adulthood.
My advice to those coming after us:
Save money while you are still young: Don’t spend every naira you earn on liabilities and unnecessary enjoyment. Save more and spend wisely because one day, your savings might be what saves you or helps you start a business.
Don’t rush into marriage: This is one mistake many people make; they rush into it without proper planning, like multiple sources of income, emphasis on the multiple sources of income, because if you enter with just one income, life may decide to surprise you in a way you don't expect.
Give birth to the number of children you can truly take care of. If it is only one child you can comfortably provide for, let it be one. Children are innocent souls, and they deserve a good life, proper care, and opportunities.
