There are some things that doesn't make sense but in Nigeria,they make it looks like it's normal. People tends or refuse not to understand boundaries,they take even small little gesture for granted. If there is a country that helps themselves the most, that should be Nigeria but now it's becoming less and less and that is bcos Nigerians fail to learn boundaries,they refuse to know their limits,They abuse a helping hand and turn the helper to someone that sees helping as a bad thing. If someone is willing to help you, you should be able to know the limits such person can do for you,ask for help within someone's limit .
There is this issue in our compound,a building next to us come to our compound to get water ,despite the fact we use meter to pump which they were aware ,we didn't bother and give them water whenever they come, they have been doing that for months. So, just two months ago ,he came to tell us that they have bought a tank now and instead of them to come and get water with their head, they would make use of hose to transfer water to their tank. It was really surprising,you got tank for water that's not from your source, you never for once make mention of buying some units to the card for pumping.
After some thought ,we decided to allow them, we thought it for the best ,they won't have to come everyday again ,so we allowed them but the moment we realized this people has turned our generosity to their rights is this month when we found out they make a way through their fence that divided us both and connected it to our tank ,that is;once water enters our tank it goes directly to their tank as well. Without our permission ooo,we were not informed,they didn't even tell us ,we just saw it .
How can people be this entitled to someone's help, someone you didn't work for or render any service for you, imagine!! We didn't bother to ask them, we cut off the hose and cover up the passage on the fence . It's been two weeks now, they didn't come to ask us about it ,they didn't come for water. I saw their children going out to fetch water somewhere.
Now, I think they love to get water with their head now ,next time they would be greatful for any little favor they get and not get entitled to it .
