After going out for lunch, we spotted a church on our way back that looked quite interesting. I love a nice graveyard, so we called in. Unfortunately, there was a funeral going on, so we just stayed outside of the churchyard. I've gatecrashed a few things in my time, but never a funeral. In fact, a friend of a friend went to the wrong funeral once. She only realised when throughout the service, they mentioned the deceased person's name. It turned out that there were two churches with similar names in the vicinity.
Anyway, we found a footpath down the side where we could take photos of the church at a respectful distance.

A few graves were tucked away and hidden from the main graveyard. It was quite overgrown as though the graves had been forgotten.
It would have been better if the rhododendrons were in bloom but they were all past their sell by date. You can't win them all.
.... and then the grave digger turned up! The trailer on the back of his car had a wheelbarrow in it. We decided to leave quickly in case he mistook us for one of his customers. 😄
