Two visiting Canada geese have arrived on the village pond. They sometimes visit but don't stay for too long. There's bigger ponds in the area for them to go to.
These two seem to be sticking around for longer. They make sure the two swans aren't around first before the dare go into the pond. If the swans are around, it might be handbags at dawn!
There's a tree next to the pond that is always a hive of activity. If I walk past, lots of birds will fly out, including blackbirds, thrushes, robins, wood pigeons and even squirrels. I've even spotted a cat in there. They all seem to love this tree for some reason.
Oh dear .... the swans are back! The last couple of years, they've had eggs, but none have hatched for some reason. Hopefully, this year, they might be successful.
