As I was doing a spot of cat sitting for a friend of mine, I was also asked to feed the wild grey squirrels in her garden as well. Most mornings they are sat on the lawn outside the kitchen window to see what's on today's menu. I can just imagine the squirrel in the background saying, "you have a look and let me know".
They then move a little closer and sit on the wall for a better look.
Luckily, these squirrels will eat almost anything. Sometimes, they even take food out of your hand.
They accepted a few biscuits, and what they didn’t eat they promptly buried the rest for later. They had a bit of competition from the crows and magpies. There was enough food for them all, but they weren't taking any chances. The funny thing is, squirrels sometimes pretend to bury food just to confuse other squirrels who may try and steal their stash. I'm not sure what a soggy biscuit is going to be like when they dig it back up.
