Discipline as part of child upbringing
The beauty of a flower is seen most when it has been pruned, that is application to the upbringing of a child, they become successful in every sphere of life when they have gone through good discipline. Like the only scripture says that the way we train our children today is what they will grow up with, which is very true.
If you fortune enough to grow up in Nigeria and you are from a Christian home, you must undergoes some discipline because of this very word that says "spare the rod and spoil the child" Africa parents are just the best when it comes to discipline their intentions is that you don't bring back bad report to the family so they will try their best to discipline so you will be a good example in the society.
I still remember those days there are some set if children my mom do use as an example to us while giving us punishment, she did that because she loved us and also wish we could also be an example to others, and if you happens to be one of the good example your parents will always be proud of you, some will make boost in your name and the society will see you as a child that has good morals and values they will treat you with love and respect.
The reason for pruning is to correct you when you go wrong so you won't become a failure and disappoint your family. In this world we are no one who celebrates failure when it becomes a shame to your family and the society at large no one wants to be identified with you. That's why from childhood our parents will always try their very best to stop that from happening.
The truth is there were some families who never corrected their children when they do wrong, they pampered them and always cover up for their mess and at the end they end up bringing disgrace to the family, some parents died as a result of the crime their children comment, so are mental Ill while some are living in regret because they failed to discipline they children when they were.
There is a boy in my community who grew up with the parents discipline him, the mum used to sell "Akara" that beans cake and the boy was nerve a support system to the mother's business rather the mother went and employ a maid to help out, so the boy grew wild wings in his parents house there was no discipline, I started steal fruit from people's compound and reports were made to they mom she will rather quarrel with the fruit owner and defend his son instead of giving in correction, the boy became wild and was a problem to the community, in graduated from stealing fruit to more valuable things like generator, money and other value asset. He has been caught several times while in oppression stealing in the community when the vigilante want to take jungle justice some of his family members will beg for me, even some of the people who caught him are his family members and extended family so it was something people were praying to God to take him far some it won't be as if they killed their family member.
Last year December 25th very early in the morning they news came to the mum that the boy was killed and was dumped into the gutter in a nearby community, at first the mom didn't believe because she saw in that same money sleeping in his room not until the rumor spread people went to see for themselves, the mum also followed on getting there behold it was his son the woman slump she was rushed to the hospital while people in the community were celebrating for his death the woman was crying, she came back and was looking so sick, she was thinking and the following month on the same date the woman die due to the fact that she couldn't bear the pains.
The sad story is a true life story, if we spare the rod the child will spoil but if we make use of the rod for the pruning of the child the beauty of the child will be seen now and even in the future
