Considering the gains achieved in Africa over the last few years, I believe African nations could be doing more in terms of advancement. They are underserved in manufacturing, education, social, health, and agriculture.
Ghana's economy, like that of many African nations, is still heavily based on agriculture. Agriculture and farming are vital to the development of about 80% of Africans. This industry remains underutilised because farmers in remote regions lack the information needed to improve their agricultural operations. More than 60% of Africa's farmlands is not cultivated at all. To make things worse, just around 10% of land is irrigated.
Authorities, like those in Ghana and other African nations, must ensure that their people are well fed. Africa has the finest climate in the world, allowing for two harvest seasons each year. Post-harvest losses are prevalent among African farmers. Investment in the agribusiness industries are required. Most Ghanaians would gain substantially if the agricultural sectors are upgraded. It will greatly enhance the lives of the poor and minimise rural migration to cities.
In practise, it would be true prosperity in regards to job creation, tax collection, and long-term viability. It is achievable with brief planning and vision. I've seen it work for others. Africa must stand up and assist in making things better for itself.
