I have a friend who believes excuses make us creative. His logic is as we have to come up with different believable excuses, so it must help boost our creativity. Well, I guess this is another excuse to establish the excuses!
But, yeah we all make excuses. And I'm not an exception. But there's a difference in using it occasionally and making this a habit. It's a common belief and also one of the main reasons to use excuses that, 'excuses save us.' Yeah, it sure saves us, but there are lots of negative impacts that we can't skip. So, we better not make as a habit!
We need to understand that excuses come with lies and hampers our relations. Those lies are not just for others, we also try to pretend ourselves by making excuses. Excuses hold us back and create a chain of negativity. And you can notice how counterproductive this is. It's like an addiction. Until you make an intentional effort to get rid of it, you will never come out of it.
But the good news is, we all have the power to get back from excuses. And, when we do we gain the ultimate freedom. The freedom to face the truth, the freedom to live how we want and tell the world who we are and what we want. Take the decision to gain this freedom.
Promise yourself you would make any unnecessary excuses from now, not to you and not to anyone else. It takes time to get rid of excuses. Because society also takes it normally. But think about the impact it creates, it makes us lazy, helps us avoid responsibilities, makes us used to lies and gives others negative vibes about us. So, try to avoid it as much as you can. And, I hope gradually we can achieve freedom!
