I have so far shared my approach to twelve (12) Rulesets, here's the last one on Ferocity⚔️ and I have come to introduce you to another.

Splinterlands seeks to sharpen skills by allowing players explore various strategies via rulesets. I have tried to study a few cards especially with the newly introduced rulesets, giving one more reasons to know what cards strongly suits them.
Before the start of any battle, each player is shown what ruleset is allowed in battle and it is extremely beneficial to read and strategize accordingly. The ruleset secret I will be sharing you to in this post is the
GOING THE DISTANCE
GOING THE DISTANCE RULESET implies that only monsters with ranged attacks may be used.
With this in mind;
Players must carefully consider including monsters with the Close Range and Return Fire abilities in your lineup.^(a)
I especially enjoy this ruleset and have a perfect battle to demonstrate it's use and a possible lineup that works for high to mid mana battles.

This was a high-mana cap battle with 3 rulesets, NOXIOUS FUMES, CLOSE RANGE and the spot-light GOING THE DISTANCE ruleset.
😱My opponent came bloody ready with a Dry-Bone Raider in front position [brutal], but yes Splintertools already analyzed battle with a 100% win for me against my enemy 0%. Well, I have lost a battle with 100% chance, so I don't fully rely on the analysis but it works for the most part. I will quickly introduce you to these fantastic monsters.
⚔️ TEAM LINE-UP ⚔️
🍃SCARRED LLAMA MAGE - SUMMONER
I will start by introducing you to SCARRED LLAMA MAGE, IMO the early baddass Untamed Earth Summoner in the whole of Splinterlands.
This summoner is one of Splinterlands must sort after NFT and there is only 1,636 of this minted NFTs in circulation. SCARRED LLAMA MAGE offer warriors the +2❤️Max Health, Cleanse to remove negative buffs on team monsters in first position and the Last stand ability to increase stats and sustain monsters for longer on battlefield. Amazing buffs that will make you grovel to have this summoner on your side of the battlefield.
⚔️CYCLOPS - FIRST LINE
CYCLOPS is a formidable monster who isn't so popular since he belongs to the Beta edition, a range monster whom I got fancy in battle cause of brawls. When in battle he Stun his enemies causing them to miss their turn, he then goes on to Shield himself which is an amazing ability especially in range attacks and Noxious fumes.
I picked CYCLOPS because of his self shield which makes him a strong defense, high HP plus the stun which definitely aids the whole team.
🍃SPIRIT OF THE FOREST - SECOND LINE
SPIRIT OF THE FOREST is a fantastic warrior, her Flying ability attacks non-flying enemies fiercely and using her Snipe ability targets ranged, magic and enemies monsters without an attack type who aren't in first line. Her ability works well to Protect ability her team by giving them double armor, whereas, her Tank heal ability will help restore the health of front-line team monster each round.
I picked SPIRIT OF THE FOREST because of her Tank heal and protect abilities which will go on well to protect and boost back front monsters health. She is also an accurate range attacker who never misses her target.
🍃HUNTER JARX - THIRD LINE
Next comes HUNTER JARX, a formidable warrior with the Snipe ability that targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack and are not in the first position. He also has the True Strike ability which causes his attacks never to miss it's target. Even Blind doesn't stand a chance this warrior's skills.
I picked him mainly because he fits perfectly in this ruleset, his True strike will definitely aid team to victory.
🍃MITICA HEADHUNTER - FOURTH LINE
MITICA HEADHUNTER is dreadful warrior who spares no-one on the battlefield. Her perfect Snare ability comes of use when attacking enemies with Flying, she removes the Flying ability and never misses. Also, her Piercing ability takes to account when Melee or Ranged attack damage is in excess of the target's Armor, the remainder will damage the target's Health.
I picked this monster for these two impressive abilities.
🍃ULOTH DHAMPIR - FIFTH LINE
ULOTH DHAMPIR is a brutally savage warrior. He has impressive skills and is not afraid to use it on the battlefield. His Stun ability cause target enemy to lose it's turn in battle, also he Triage by healing the team back-line Monster that has taken the most damage.
I picked him for these formidable abilities which is well needed on in battle.
⚔️CORNEALUS - SIXTH LINE
CORNEALUS is a ferocious one eyed beast, a powerful range attacker with high HP and impressive speed. This monster has the Thorns ability which does damage back to it's attacker if melee. The added Tank Heal ability self regenerates it's health each round making it unstoppable. Finally with it's Return Fire, when hit with a Ranged attack, it's Return Fire will return reduced damage back to the attacker. I picked him for obvious reasons, fits perfectly to ruleset.
Without further ado, let us now enter the battleground.
⚔️ THE BATTLE ⚔️
- The Enemy came at me with the delectable LYANNA NATURA, accompanied by her Earth element monsters, Enemy-DRYBONE RAIDER in first position, Enemy-GOBLIN CHEF in second position, Enemy-HIGHLAND ARCHER in third position, Enemy-EARTH ELEMENTAL in fourth position, Enemy-MITICA HEADHUNTER and finally Enemy-HALFLING ALCHEMIST. It was a pretty impressive lineup with a miss of a frontline healer, but I've learnt never to underestimate my opponents card, and that's a solid team irrespective, so Let's see what happened.
SCARRED LLAMA MAGE granted all Team monsters the +2❤️
Max Health,Cleanseand theLast standENEMY-LYANNA NATURA grants her wicked team of monsters the ❤️+1 max Health point.
All monsters are inflicted with the poison which affects those without immunity at the start of each atte round.
SPIRIT OF THE FOREST granted all team monster the protection ability, by increasing their armor by +2.
MITICA HEADHUNTER and CORNEALUS focus their fierce attacks on front line ENEMY-DRYBONE RAIDER. Rapidly depleting it's health.
ULOTH DHAMPIR takes the honors and with one strike annihilates front monster ENEMY-DRYBONE RAIDER.
HUNTER JARX Targets and with true strikes, annihilates ENEMY-HIGHLAND ARCHER.
End of First round and start of another, all monsters take the poison hit of -2 max health.
SPIRIT OF THE FOREST targets and annihilates ENEMY-GOBLIN CHEF. While CORNEALUS targets and instantly kills ENEMY-EARTH ELEMENTAL.
For the finishing, HUNTER JARX Targets and with true strikes, annihilates ENEMY-MITICA HEADHUNTER.
You'll need watch battle as It was powerful and fierce attack, the enemy didn't know what hit them.
In the end 🎉MY MONSTER TEAM let out a roar FLAWLESS VICTORY!!!🎉
A RECAP OF THE LESSONS LEARNT ON GOING THE DISTANCE RULESET
In battles that use the
GOING THE DISTANCE ruleset, only monsters with ranged attacks are allowed to be used. This unique rule presents strategic opportunities and considerations for players.
To succeed in the Going the Distance ruleset, players should prioritize including monsters with the Close Range ability such as HUNTER JARX with a snipe and true strike in their lineup. Furthermore, be mindful of opponents who may also have access to the Close Range and Return Fire abilities. Consider how to counter or mitigate the effectiveness of these abilities through strategic positioning or the use of monsters with defensive abilities.
Overall, the Going the Distance ruleset offers a unique and engaging battle that challenges players to optimize their ranged attackers. By including units with the Close Range and Return Fire abilities, and by strategically planning their lineup, players can excel in battles and achieve victory.
✅From this battle and my observation, these tips played a KEY role and don't forget to always come with the Tank heal ability will help restore the health of front-line team monster each round, especially for a high-mid manna cap like this which I enjoy.
