Here's a warm welcome you to this week's battle mage secrets. Omigosh we are down to 15 HOURS to the End of Season [EOS], I truly hope you are having fun and progressing through the leagues nicely.
This post is my continuous attempt to explain how I approach the various kinds of Splinterlands battle rulesets. I have so far shared my approach to Twenty One (21) Rulesets, here's the last one on MELEE MAYHEM and I have come to introduce you to another.

Splinterlands seeks to sharpen player skills by allowing us explore various strategies via rulesets. I have tried to study a few cards especially with the newly introduced rulesets, giving one more reasons to know what cards strongly suits them.
Before the start of any battle, each player is shown what ruleset is allowed in battle and it is extremely beneficial to read and strategize accordingly. The ruleset secret I will be sharing you to in this post is the NOXIOUS FUMES
NOXIOUS FUMES RULESET implies that All Monsters start the battle Poisoned.
With this in mind;
Higher HP and cleanse are the best choice (a^)
You should also know that there may be some cases where you go for a big offensive attack and wipe out your opponent before the poison becomes a factor (b^)
I especially enjoy this ruleset and have a perfect battle to demonstrate it's use and a possible lineup that works for high to mid mana battles.

This was a low mana cap battle with NOXIOUS FUMES as the spotlight ruleset of the week and HEALED OUT which means all healing abilities are removed so no monster heals on the battlefield, hot damn!😬
I will quickly introduce you to my fantastic team of monsters.
⚔️ TEAM LINE-UP ⚔️
MYLOR CROWLING - SUMMONER
I will start by introducing you to MYLOR CROWLING, IMO the baddest Dice Earth Summoner in the whole of Splinterlands.
A great summoner with the supernatural ability to grant the Thorns ability. This ability is so deadly that when monsters with it are attacked by melee attackers, it does damage back to the attacker. The awesome fact about this summoner is that, he gives the thorns ability to all monsters on his team, making them even more fierce.
MYLOR CROWLING is Anti-Melee, hence, he is particularly effective when you envisage your enemy to come at you with Melee Attack. But, considering the second ruleset, he is also very useful in a Healed out ruleset situation as you will want to also deplete the health of your opponent as fast as you can without them being able to Heal.
UNICORN MUSTANG - HIGH HP MELEE ASSUALT FRONTIER
In front comes the warrior UNICORN MUSTANG. It’s attack type is melee, hence, can take a good amount of hits, and I placed him in front solely for this reason, as an attacking unit back with supportive monsters. UNICORN MUSTANG's Void ability recues damage from magic attackers, and should he get hit by a magic attack, his Magic reflect does reduce damage back at the attacker.
I picked UNICORN MUSTANG because of his high HP, Melee damage, Speed and also Void should my enemy come at me with magic attackers.
MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN - BIG MAGIC OFFENSE IN SECOND
Next comes the MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN. Her Taunt ability attracts enemy attack, whereas her Forcefield ability will help MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN take only 1 damage attack from enemy monsters with 5+ mana. I have employed her for this reason.
I picked her mainly because she fits perfectly in this ruleset, her Forcefield will definitely aid team to victory, Taunt will direct all attacks to her, giving room for Front team monster to attack.
BROWNIE - INSPIRE THE TEAM FROM THIRD
In third place comes BROWNIE, who moves like the wind and attacks like fire. Thanks to it's
Swiftness ability grants extra speed to all team monsters, as well as the
Inspire ability which gives an extra melee attack to all melee monsters.
I picked him for the obvious reason of Inspire and Speed, well needed in this battle.
SPIRIT OF THE FOREST - PROTECT YOUR TEAM FROM FOURTH POSITION
SPIRIT OF THE FOREST is a great warrior with demonstrated prowess. Her Flying ability attacks non-flying enemies fiercely and using her Snipe ability targets ranged, magic and enemies monsters without an attack type who aren't in first line. Her ability works well to Protect ability her team by giving them double armor. She also has the Tank heal ability but this Ruleset forbids it's use in battle.
I picked SPIRIT OF THE FOREST because of her protect abilities which will go on well to protect by adding +1 Maxed armor to all team warriors. She is also an accurate range attacker who never misses her target.
Without further ado, let us now enter the battleground.
⚔️ THE BATTLE ⚔️
- The Enemy came at me with the Fire element as well, ENEMY-TARSA as Summoner. Enemy-GRUM FIREBLADE in first position, Enemy-SCAVO CHEMIST in second position, Enemy-FORGOTTEN ONE in third position, and finally Enemy-XENITH ARCHER. I've learnt never to underestimate my opponents card, and that Enemy-FORGOTTEN ONE is a baddass. My opponent might have come to me with level 1 cards which is alarming at Gold level, but Let's see what happened.
SUMMONER-ENEMY TARSA gives all her monsters the ❤️+
Healthand also+
Melee.SUMMONER MYLOR CROWLING gave all team monster the
+1
THORNability as expected.BROWNIE gives all team monsters the
SwiftnessandInspireability.SPIRIT OF THE FOREST gives all team monsters the
Protect ability.
All monsters are afflicted with the poison which affects those without immunity at the start of each round.
SPIRIT OF THE FOREST launches the first strike at ENEMY-SCAVO CHEMIST.
Next comes UNICORN MUSTANG who strikes at ENEMY-GRUND FLAMEBLADE.
MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN taunts and gets attacked by ENEMY-XENITH ARCHER, affecting her Shield - 1.
ENEMY-GRUM FIREBLADE attacks UNICORN MUSTANG and gets damage back due to its Thorn ability.
End of First round and start of another, all monsters take the poison hit of -2 max health.
SPIRIT OF THE FOREST attacks and kills ENEMY-XENITH ARCHER.
MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN Strikes and instantly kills ENEMY-GRUM FIREBLADE.
With just ENEMY- FORGOTTEN ONE left standing, UNICORN MUSTANG, SPIRIT OF THE FOREST and MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN take turns to strike and attack, weakening it's health down to 2.

A RECAP OF THE LESSONS LEARNT ON NOXIOUS FUMES RULESET
In battles that use the
NOXIOUS FUMES ruleset, all monsters start the battle poisoned and each round that they're poisoned they lose +2 Max Health. This rule adds a unique challenge to battles and requires players to adjust their strategies accordingly.
To succeed in the Noxious Fumes ruleset, players should prioritize having monster with Higher HP and cleanse are the best choice. This means players should envisage special cases where they have to go for a big offensive attack and wipe out the opponent before the poison comes in factor start of each round.
However, it's important to note that some summoners like SCARRED LLAMA MAGE that grant monsters the Cleanse ability play a great role as well in the scenario where you have no Immunity monsters like in my case. If you do not have This summoner, then yes, MYLOR CROWLING is perfect, as besides the Poison you will have the added advantage of doing damage back to attackers which depletes their health faster leading to your victory.
👉From this battle and my observation, these abilities played a KEY role;
✅ The THORN ability which when hit with a melee attack, does back damage to the enemy thereby weakening the enemy and MYLOR CROWLING offers that to all team monsters at only 3 mana. This ability is perfect in a healed out ruleset.
✅ The SWIFTNESS ability which grants all team monsters extra speed, monsters like BROWNIE with just 1 mana offers that.
✅ BROWNIE also offers another awesome ability to help, the INSPIRE ability which boost attacks by +1.
✅ If placed in the front or comes forward to the front, then the PROTECT ability which gives team monster double armor to protect against enemy attacks directed at health. Cards like SPIRIT OF THE FOREST offers that at mana of 7.
👆Having Summoner and Monsters that offer these abilities on deck will make it almost impossible to lose a Noxious fumes Ruleset. That will be all about my battle, Thank you for stopping by😊.
