The world is changing so fast. There are many happenings in the world and if we look closely into it, it is not about the environment alone. It is about the country and the whole world itself. Every part of the world has some actions which are their norms but I feel like the government are regulating some things that are likely to ruin any child out there. I will love to give an instance using a story and also with the background of an African setting.
In Africa, it is generally believed that you are still a child under your parents no matter how old you are. This means that your parents still have a lot of power over you. In some countries, a child is responsible for his actions and can do anything that he likes when he is eighteen years old. Now, Africans adopted that same method. The government regulated it and that is why we see a lot of children misbehave because they feel they are capable of doing anything that they like since they are eighteen years old. Let's go to the story.
There is a pretty little girl who clocked eighteen years old a few days ago. Her parents then gave her the freedom to do anything that she likes. She goes to the club almost all the time and behaves irrationally. At some point, her parents were trying to correct her but she told them that she is eighteen already which means that she can do anything. After a while, she committed a crime with her friends and they all went to jail. If the government had not regulated this and if her parents have not allowed her to do whatever she wants, she might still be living fine and be a very good girl.
There are some little children who just clocked eighteen years old full of bad behaviours like aborting pregnancy and many more. Some of them even lost their lives in the process. We have a lot of them here. Allowing a child to do whatever he likes just because he is eighteen does not seem right to me. Some of these children are still growing. Some of them don't even know what life entails. They are just getting to know what life is about so we should not leave them all alone. This law has done more harm than good.
Some people who are eighteen are not even mentally capable of facing challenges and that is why parents should still guide them. They are still little children no matter how huge they look. I heard that if you beat your child in other countries, you may get arrested. This means that the government officials are really willing your child to be free.
I'm glad it is not like that in Africa. Even if a child can be free at age eighteen here, the parents still have the right to discipline such child when he does something wrong.
