A music enthusiast named Bertolt Meyer who had one prosthetic arm was able to alter his arm and control music with his thoughts. He installed DIY controller for sound control and it enabled many options for him to play what kind of music.
He named his DIY 'SynLimb' , it is still a work in progress but idea is very interesting. This electronic arm takes signal from internal muscles which are also in the form electric pulses in our body.
He was not able to achieve this on his own. He sought out the help of Koma Electronics and they provided him with customized electronic circuits for his arm according to his requirement.
This can have endless possibilities in future and everyone would be able to control music with just piece of extra hardware attached to your body. There are many initiatives already working in this domain.
