Hey there, Archon! Feeling pumped seeing BTC on the rise again? Hive and SPS are tagging along too!
I'm riding that same wave of excitement in Splinterlands, even though I can't play in Wild mode anymore since the Wild Pass came back. But I've been grinding hard in Modern—especially after renting an awesome summoner: Fithe Bladestone.
Now, he’s not one of those hype summoners everyone’s talking about, but trust me—this guy quietly flips the script on the battlefield.
First, let me introduce you to Fithe Bladestone. This Fire summoner gives all your monsters +2 Armor and has the Bloodline ability for Dwarves. What does that mean? Any Dwarf you bring along—tank or support—gets an extra Void ability. At just 4 mana, Fithe is perfect for low to mid-mana battles.
In this match, the ruleset was Holy Protection, so every monster started with Divine Shield. I immediately thought, “Okay, let’s play it safe and go full defense.” I picked Grimbardun Fighter as my frontline. He’s a Dwarf with Shield and 3 melee damage—pretty solid, especially when Void from Bloodline kicks in.
Second row was Chaos Evoker, a magic attacker with Blast. Not only does he cut through defenses, but his blast damage also chips away at adjacent enemies. Then I slotted in Gobalano Soldier, a sneaky backline bruiser who can quietly tip the scales. And finally, Flame Mephit at the rear—small, but agile thanks to Flying, perfect for dodging Sneak attacks.
My opponent went with Life element, using Chuul Jujinchi as their summoner—dual element, but no stat buffs. Their formation confused me: Janni Rebel, a magic attacker, was in the front; Skyspire Leopard, a melee unit, was behind. Weird, I thought. But then I realized Janni Rebel has Flank, so she can still attack from non-frontline positions. That caught me off guard.
Still, my defense was too solid. Grimbardun held the line like a champ. Chaos Evoker blasted enemies one by one. Gobalano Soldier kept hammering the backline. Even though Meriput Magician managed to heal Janni Rebel for a bit, Chaos Evoker's relentless Blast took down their midline.
Round after round, the tides turned. Ujurak Elder fell in round four, and Meriput Magician—their final hope—was taken out in round five. Victory was mine!

Looking back, Fithe Bladestone is seriously underrated. I didn’t realize how strong he was until I tried him. That +2 Armor is a big deal, especially against physical attacks. And the Bloodline bonus for Dwarves can shift the entire flow of battle if you position your team smartly.
From this match, I learned that monster placement is crucial. One wrong position, and your whole strategy can fall apart—even with a strong lineup. If you're a new player, Fithe Bladestone might be your secret weapon to climb the ranks. He’s flexible, low-cost, and makes an immediate impact.
So my advice? If you don’t have Fithe Bladestone yet, give him a try. Rent him, especially in rulesets like Holy Protection—you might just say, “Whoa, this card’s insane!” Especially if you’ve got some Dwarf monsters in your collection. That armor + Bloodline combo? Game-changing.
Catch you in the next battle! And keep an eye on Hive and SPS—they just might be heating up again in the coming weeks!
