SLEEP IN RED
Today I remembered how I used to fall asleep at my grandmother’s house. Sometimes my family would come to visit my grandmother, and the family of my godfather would come as well. At a certain point, there was no bed for me, and I slept with my grandmother in the same bed when I was about ten years old.
I remember that I always chose to sleep near the wall, next to the carpet. It was a red Soviet carpet with various patterns and elements. And I remember how I was falling asleep, turning away from my grandmother, looking at that carpet, and falling asleep into it. And it felt like falling asleep inside a kaleidoscope, a red kaleidoscope.
