Catching with updates!
The recent Łódź edition of Young Art Fair (in October) brought a mix of surprises — some expected, some not at all.
The weather wasn’t on our side
It drizzled most of the weekend, and if we add up all the moments of sunshine, maybe we get 10 minutes. That alone hits foot traffic. And on top of that… we decided to run a marketing experiment.
Google Ads vs Meta Ads — experiment failed
This time, a big chunk of our budget went into Google Ads instead of our usual Meta Ads.
The result? Interesting, but not useful - we are still testing the waters, and we are hoping to find sweet spot without spending on centralised social media - but this is where people are.
Attendance was:
— lower than the last Łódź edition (which was huge),
— similar to our recent Kraków edition,
— still absolutely acceptable… but not spectacular.
Fewer artists — more sales than ever
This edition had fewer exhibitors than previous Łódź.
We didn’t expect that, and honestly, it worried us a bit — because we still don’t fully understand why
And then something surprising happened:
Artists who did join this edition reported the best sales coefficient in our entire history.
The highest ever.
So the edition that looked weaker on paper… turned out to be the strongest financially for exhibitors.
Art fairs are funny like that. But maybe this is what is worth to look at quantity is not always an indicator.
We were featured on local TV together with Monika Kubiaczyk-Cygan (on the picture) it was genuinely fun to visit the Łódź TV station and feel the cultural vibe there.
And during the event - instead of us going to TV, this time Regional TV came to us — a crew visited the fair, and we appeared in the news here:

But after many editions, one thing is clear:
traditional media doesn’t move attendance.
It matters for symbolism and status, not for real reach.
A good reminder of where value truly comes from.
This time Hive, our sponsor, had its own stand, and there was an opportunity to speak with our guests and artists and take notes about their experience at the art fair. Their presence and feedback helped us understand the direction we are moving in. One interesting observation was the paradox that many of the people who grasped the potential of Web3 were older attendees—those who had lived through the communist era.
New artists on Hive - talented
Łódź delivered again for sure!
Despite the rain, despite the experiment, despite fewer exhibitors — Łódź proved itself once more.
Great vibe, strong sales, happy artists.
That’s the metric that matters.
What’s next? Three Łódź editions next year.
Two in our beloved OFF Piotrkowska space, and one at the art & techno festival Ravekjavik:

Łódź is officially one of our strategic strongholds now.
