Life is sweet but having friends makes life more interesting, imagine living your life every day without having any friend to talk to, no friend to annoy, just you all by yourself, I bet you it’s gonna be pretty boring!
So this year I concluded that I would spend more time with my friends, last year was all about chasing the bag tirelessly and not having enough time to be with people that I love but this year I decided that I was going to change for good, that is balancing things. The plan is to chase the bag and also spend time with people I love.
Today was so fun as I and my friend Sophia decided to spend time together, basically, catch up as we haven’t seen each other in a long time. Part of the fun activity we decided to do was to go cycling, it was Sophia’s idea as she wouldn’t hesitate to jump at any given opportunity to screw me over.
I know how to ride a bicycle but I can’t say I am a pro, an average rider would be the best word to describe my cycling skills. I can ride at my own pace but when it comes to competing with people count me out! Growing up I rode more of scooters than bicycles, for me they were easier to ride than bicycles.
Sophia rode her bicycle down to my house and from there we went out for a ride.
Looking at her bicycle I smiled, I smiled because it felt just like yesterday when we were babies and could only stick to smaller bicycles but here we are now, we’ve graduated from riding children's bicycles to adult bicycles hehehehe we grew up so fast🥰🥰
You know one interesting thing about going on such rides with a friend and with one bicycle is that you both take turns to ride the bicycle and this can be super fun!
I rode for some time and the next minute Sophia my friend whines about how I do not want to let her ride, she pays me back by riding for a long time and I pay her back again and it continues like that, going back and forth until we finally realize that we were both acting like babies, we just couldn’t help but laugh at ourselves.
Riding with Sophia was so fun, as we rode around my neighborhood and beyond and I discovered that there were places in my neighborhood that I never knew existed because I was always boarding a vehicle and not paying attention to my environment.
The ride was super fun because of the way it was organized, we made a few stops, rested, and gisted for a while before continuing. I haven’t seen Sophia in a while of course we had so much to talk about.
While Sophia rode faster and showed off her cycling skills, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes and yell “Show off!” a couple of times and she didn’t fail to do the victory dance, again and again, to make me jealous, it did work as I wished I could ride as fast as her and effortlessly but I made a promise to myself that I’d improve on my cycling skills and just maybe one day I will be able to duel Sophia, fingers crossed guys😂
What’s riding without getting a few snacks on the way? On one of our many stops we made our way to a restaurant to get shawarma and yoghurt, we got scammed as the packaging of the shawarma made it look big meanwhile the content was so small, we both made a mental note never to buy shawarma from the restaurant anymore.
We also rode to one of the newest malls in the city and surprisingly we were stunned at how beautiful the mall was as they just came into business last month.
With each stop we made, we made sure Sophia’s bicycle was well secured as we weren’t ready to lose such a beautiful bicycle.
Overall cycling with my friend Sophia was really fun and I wouldn’t mind doing it again and again even if she has to show off her bicycle prowess, I’d still be game for the adventure🥰🥰
