Two cousins, Jack and Jimmy, started their independent lives at the same time. Both of them were not in a good financial state. After some months , they felt a high need of money to uplift their livelihood. They decided to take the debt. Both of them took the debt from the same source on same provisions. It was a handsome amount for beginning a new life. Both of them went on their ventures.
The arrival of money was so evident in Jack's life so that he could claim his prosperity. He developed a magnificent life style. He bought a luxurious house and decorated it with expensive commodities. He hired servants to take care of his house. His vehicle also told about his good days. The dinning table at the time of meal spoke out loud that it was the table of a prosper person. His and his family's life became comfortable by the money he took as debt.
On the other hand, Jimmy's life didn't show any remarkable effects of the big amount of money entered into his life. He was living in an ordinary house with ordinary vehicle. His food was simple. He and his family used to do their work themselves. No body could say that they were prosperous.
Twenty years later, Jack and Jimmy met each other in an auction of a castle- like house. Jimmy was looking quite handsome. His moves and styles were speaking of the good time in his life. A personal assistant was beside him, while his car was the most expensive among all the visitors.
On the other hand, Jack was standing against a tree in a wretched condition. It was his house that was about to be auctioned. He reminded of his past. He took the debt to run errands of his life. When he ran out of money due to so much expenses of luxurious life, he took more debt. After paying installment for the debt, he used the remaining amount to run his luxurious life. The time for next installment arrived, and he had to take more debt to pay the earlier debt. The debt kept on increasing because of interest. His family demanded for the comfort and so he kept on providing them by taking debts after debts. Then there came a time when he couldn't take more debt, so he couldn't pay the installments of the previous debts. The result was the auction of his house.
Sitting on a comfortable seat, Jimmy reminded of the struggles he went through his life. He was thankful to his family who supported him with their patience and resilience. Jimmy knew that progress could not be made in one's life when there is a burden of debt on someone. When he took the debt, he kept his life as simple as he could. He invested the big portion of the money into a business. When he got some profit from the business, he invested it back. He knew if he would spend that profit on any other thing, he would be step backward because he had to pay back the debt. He kept on doing the same. He invested back his profit in the business. He kept his life restricted to basic needs. With this strategy, a time came when he was no longer in the burden of debt. Now it was the time for progressing. He kept his expenses and earning in check. By keeping his expenses within a portion of his earning and investing back in the business, he gradually moved up on the ladder of prosperity, comfort and luxury. He was now the owner of multiple businesses.
Both Jack and Jimmy started their lives on similar circumstances and similar opportunities. The thing that made the difference in their lives were the decisions to run their economies.
P.S. I have written this post as an allegory for all the states and countries which are in debt and struggling to go on with their falling economies.
At the end of the post, I would like to promote the post Shorts || Grateful For Strength To Keep Pushing Forward by . The words I liked in the post are
Here I am today still pushing despite how hard things are getting, here I am still aiming for a better future despite the huddles and the storm. Things are getting tougher in the country, workers are been laid off, the economy is skyrocketing in a bad way but this isn't the best time to lose strength, we've come this far with the help of God and we will keep on pushing forward with God by our side.
